Welcome to the Masterson Media website.

I have more than 20 years of experience in writing, editing, and content creation. I’ve covered pretty much everything — healthcare, insurance, business, financial services, credit cards, mortgages, local news, state and presidential politics and history to name just a few. And I’ve worked for such companies as HealthLeaders Media, Community Newspaper Company, QuinStreet and Patch.

After 20 years of working full-time for media companies, I launched Masterson Media, a freelance writing and editing business.

I offer high-quality writing and editing. I’m able to write consumer-oriented pieces, dig deeper to provide content for an expert audience and offer internal communications to engage employees. I’m as comfortable writing an uplifting feature as crafting an article about a complicated healthcare reform plan or helping a client connect with employees or customers. No matter the topic, I give each subject matter the respect it deserves.

I’ve contributed to five books on baseball history. I researched and interviewed players that resulted in in-depth player profiles in books about the 1918, 1967 and 1975 Boston Red Sox, 1948 Boston Braves and 1969 New York Mets. The Society for Baseball Research also used the profiles for its BioProject, which will ultimately offer a biography of each player who ever played in the major leagues.

Media organizations, including the New England Press Association, Massachusetts Press Association, and the American Society of Business Publication Editors, have recognized my work. Though appreciative of the industry awards,  I’m proudest of receiving the Town of Arlington Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award, which the local Human Rights Commission gives out annually to a person who works in the spirit of Dr. King.
